Entry Hill re-landscape

We have looked after this property for the landlord via Fidelis Estate agents for a number of years and noticed that much of the stone work in the paths and walls was getting very unstable and therefore unsafe for the tentants at the property. We carried out the project to make safe the pathways and walls, lay a new patio at the top of the garden and re-gravel the middle section and build a screening fence and 3 arches.

"I was handed Phil’s name by a friend who had used his services and was very satisfied with them. For the last 5 years he has been cutting my garden hedge - Leylandii -  which is not an easy job. He has kept the hedge in order and helped me by gradually reducing its height. He cuts the hedge with care, then tidies up and clears away the trimmings, and is very pleasant to deal with. I would be happy to recommend him to anyone else."

Phil has been helping us with our garden for the past few years and we've always found him to be a happy worker and always willing to get stuck in - no matter what we've thrown at him. The garden is on a hill and is terraced, with an orchard area at the bottom, just under an acre. Phil has been a tree surgeon, has put edging in, moved shrubs, cut back the larger shrubs plus other work. He's always worked hard, supported by regular cups of tea from me and a smile from him. Our latest project was to reinforce a bank that needed a bit more support due to the wet weather we've had recently. Here are some photos showing how neatly he works and what a good job he did for us. I recommend him.

I have been using Manage My Garden for a few years now and they are a friendly and reliable company.

I usually use them for a 2 day makeover in Spring and the garden is then transformed. Hard workers and you always feel like a lot has been done.

I have no hesitation in recommending MMG who will just get on with it

Ash Ward (Landlord Bath)

Phil was head groundsmen for a school i used to teach PE in, excellent at his job, very approachable and proactive, always happy to help with an excellent rapport with the student, I will never forget him attempting long jump one summer with his steel toe caps on, he then offered the students a mars bar if they beat his distance! Needless to say that didn't happen as they were only 11 years old! So when he moved to bath and set up his own business i was delighted to offer him the full time maintenance of my student properties.

I have used Manage my gardens, since they started, which must be close to six or seven years now.

Phil and his team manage a student property I own, this involves, lawns, hedges, fence work, gutter clearance and some general maintenance, as i no longer live in bath he is also able to report back on the current status of the property.

I'm always very satisfied with the work Phil and his team do, I believe a well maintained garden of a student property, is important for the tenants, not only for their personal enjoyment but it also acts as an important security measure.

I highly recommend MMG to others.

“We first became aware of Phil a couple of years ago when he was doing some good work in a neighbours garden. Phil is approachable and friendly and didn’t once judge our inability to be able to name a single plant or know what to do with them!

Phil visits us regularly over the growing period (he taught us that!) and him and his team do a fantastic job keeping both our courtyard and our back garden in great condition and looking really neat for our whole team and our guests to enjoy. We would recommend them to anyone who doesn’t have the time, experience or ability to look after their own garden”

Mr & Mrs Watterson - Batheaston

"Last year we realised that we needed more help in our garden. It is approximately one-third of an acre, and we struggle to cope. It was important to us to find someone local, and that is how we stumbled upon Phil's website. He has worked here a few times to bring the garden back under control. That sounds quite soft work but the shrubs and trees were seriously overgrown. Towards the end of last year he completely rebuilt our very big pergola. He and his various helpers are a pleasure to have around. We find him to be knowledgeable, honest and fair."

"Phil and his team have been doing work in our garden for over a year now and they have always done an excellent job and remained cheerful and professional throughout. Nothing is too big or too small from trimming a 3 metre beech hedge and reducing a yew tree to fixing a fence where our kune kune pigs escaped! I always feel confident they will manage whatever is asked and do it to a very high standard. I would recommend them with confidence."

"I’m not sure if it’s 2 or 3 years since Phil first started doing my garden. I found him online when I was looking for someone to do gardening and I liked what I read. What I needed was a strong man to tackle the heavy stuff like digging out overrun flower beds, removing a hedge, strimming weeds and lawn edges, clearing up dead garden refuse and taking away larger stuff such as tree prunings. Then there is the gutter clearing, which means being up a ladder, and pruning climbers such as wisteria. I can’t do that. I’m pleased with what Phil does and have recommended him to neighbours."
